In the United States Constitution the men who wrote made it clear that there was to be a seperation between church and state. And also it states that there should be no one religion or belief that is to be practiced in the U.S. In doin this our forefathers made it so a man could be prosecuted for believing in whatever he believes in, but in the book Inherit the Wind these laws from the constitution are ignored because there is no seperation between church and state and it is basically a clash between religions and beliefs. also it seems as though the right to guranteed by the constitution has also been compromised in this novel as well.
